Frequently Asked Questions

Who stays at the Tulsa Girls’ Home?

At Tulsa Girls’ Home (TGH), we provide shelter and a family for teen girls ages 14-18 who are in Oklahoma state custody (a.k.a the Department of Human Services). TGH provides 24/7 care through our Residential Care Advocates who support each girl.

Will you take my biological child?

Tulsa Girls’ Home does not provide residence for girls who are in their parental or next of kin guardianship. TGH receives girls through a referral basis with a licensed DHS caseworker. For parenting resources please visit our resource list.

Caseworkers, please contact the DHS Child Welfare Placement Office at 405.521.3963 to inquire about placement.

Do you take clothing donations?

Currently, we are working on building our own on-site boutique which would be able to store gently used or new clothing for our residents and other teen girls in foster care. At this time, we are not taking clothing donations due to limited space.

What type of donations do you need?

We are always in need of household items, feminine products, and gift cards. Please visit our Girls’ Wishlist for more ideas.

How do you receive funding?

Tulsa Girls’ Home contracts with the state of Oklahoma and also receives funding for supplemental programs, extracurricular activities, basic living and social enhancement groups, and other resources that provide mental, spiritual, and physical healing.

These supplemental programs are funded by community businesses, foundations, churches, and individuals who have a passion to see girls’ lives restored!
